Englewood Terrace Subdivision

Before a single house goes up in a subdivision, somebody has to put in everything you will never see again. At Englewood Terrace in Coos Bay we are installing the underground utilities for Compass Communities: the sanitary sewer system, the storm drainage, and the underground electrical, along with relocating catch basins to suit the new layout. It runs in sequence - sewer first, then storm, then electrical - because each system sets the grade and the elevation for the next one. Subdivision utility work is unforgiving. Every line has to be laid at the right slope, tested and inspected before it gets buried, and the trenches have to be backfilled and compacted properly or the roads above them fail in a few winters.
